Founder
I grew up as a horseback rider, but more than that I am a horse lover. Horses have made me who I am. They have taught me more about love, passion, honesty, reality, people, hard work, loss, and strength than any human ever has. I am only one person, but I try to do what I can to give back to these amazing creatures who have given me so much.

"If we see cruelty or wrong that we have the power to stop, and we do nothing, we make ourselves sharers in the guilt." - Anna Sewell, English Novelist
I am a single person who save horses. The more community help and support I get the more horses I can save. I already give all of my extra money toward this cause. 99% of bills are paid from my pocket. As one person it is all I can do.
Purpose
The purpose of this foundation is to save, rehabilitate and rehome neglected horses that are scheduled to be sent to the slaughterhouse. The rehabilitation piece is the one that we concentrate most on. We believe that a horse that has suffered abuse during his lifetime must be sound in mind, body and soul before he is adopted out to a new family. We are a "natural rescue" which means we use natural approaches to training, feeding, stabling, hoof care, etc. This healthy, natural care keeps the horses away from chemicals and brings them closer to nature. To ensure that each horse gets the best care and rehabilitation, we must limit the number of horses that come into the rescue. We work hands on with each horse. We do whatever it takes to help the horses. Luckily, the horses that leave us are happy, confident and ready to face the world.
Starfish Story
Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.
The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.
As he came up to the person he said, "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said, "It sure made a difference to that one!"
